Summer Reading


Reading over the summer is very important for youth and is a great family time activity.  All of our summer reading programs are free and open to the public.  Sign up for the reading program, and earn some great prizes!

Summer Reading Support

readsupport.jpgThe Ely Public Library has received the Center for the Book Iowa Literacy Award for their Reading Support Program!  This initiative is a free service offered through the support of volunteers at the Ely Public Library.  Reading Support is available Monday – Friday from 10:00-10:30 and1:00-2:00 pm for Kindergarten and up.  Each session will consist of a 30 minute one-on-one reading opportunity.  The remainder 30 minutes will consist of one of the following:  group reading, read aloud, literacy games, writing practice, book talks and more!  Following the reading support is a fun free program for everyone!  Space is limited and registration is required. If you have any questions, please contact Sarah by phone at 848-7616 or by email at
